Remove existing handrail down to existing concrete surface. Removal must be flush with existing concrete to facilitate concrete repair. Record exact locations of existing anchors to avoid conflicts with new rail anchor installations. Coordinate anchor conflicts with new rail fabrication. In the event of a conflict, submit solution to CO prior to fabrication. Remove existing concrete steps and approximately 31 linear feet of existing 5" wide sidewalk. Remove existing aggregate base to a depth to accommodate new construction. All removal items shall be disposed of off of Forest in accordance with local laws. Construct new concrete steps and 5" sidewalk according to the plans. New sidewalk shall be flush with existing asphalt surface. Place 44 square yards of polymer concrete repair according to plans. Make provisions for public access to the building during working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Submit safety plan which addresses protection of the public during period that the rail is removed.
