Titles selected for print braille are generally picture books ranging from 24 to 48 pages in length. NLS expects to select between five and 50 titles each year for print braille production, based on the needs of its network libraries, and NLS may order between two and 150 copies of each print braille title. Amendment 1 - The purpose of this amendment is to change the FBO due date so that it is consistent with the due date mentioned on the solicitation. To upload responses to vendors questions. Further, we have added an attachment of a current product.

Added: Apr 27, 2018 4:58 pm Amendment 2 - The purpose of this amendment is to clarify if vendors are to provide one hard copy or assume 150 copies and base a price per copy. Vendors need to provide the cost to create only one copy of the book. While NLS may, from time to time order between two (2) and 150 copies of a title, NLS currently orders 102 copies per title and we anticipate the majority of upcoming orders will be for approximately that many copies per title. Added: Apr 30, 2018 11:24 am Amendment 3 - The purpose of this amendment is to clarify a question we received that stated, "Since we are not given a clear estimated number of copies (2 to 150), are we to provide the total cost to create one initial hard copy master of the book? Or are we to assume 150 copies and base a price per copy relevant to that?" Our answer to that question is: "Please provide the cost to create one (1) copy of the book based on an average order of 102 copies per title. While NLS may, from time to time order between two (2) and 150 copies of a title, NLS currently orders 102 copies per title and we anticipate the majority of upcoming orders will be for approximately that many copies per title."

This amendment is to clarify any confusion that may have come from Amendment 2. Please disregard Amendment 2, and use this amendment instead as a replacement of Amendment 2.
