The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Contracts Management Office (CMO), intends to award a sole source contract to, Open Robotics, 170 S Whisman Rd., Building D, Suite A, Mountain View, CA 94041, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) (1).


The proposed procurement is for the development, delivery, and support of an open-source robot simulation system for use by the organizers and competitors in the DARPA Subterranean (SubT) Challenge. The objective of this effort is to discover innovations that enable integrated and rapid mapping, navigation, and search of complex environments through advances in the technology areas of autonomy, perception, networking, and mobility. Proposed solutions seek to rapidly and remotely map, navigate, and search complex environments, including human-made tunnel systems, urban and municipal underground infrastructure, and natural cave networks.


This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is currently available. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement
