Silver-Zinc Battery Cells used in the MK 30 Mod 1 Anti-Submarine Warfare Target (№2816506)

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) has a requirement for silver-zinc battery cells used in the MK 30 Mod 1 Anti-Submarine Warfare Target.

The solicitation will be Unrestricted. First Article units will be required from potential offerors for whom First Article testing is not waived by the Government. The period of performance for this requirement consists of a base year and four option years. The base year and options include steps allowing for the procurement of 2000 to 4000, 4001 to 6000 or 6001 to 8000 battery cells and electrolyte fill kits.

The Government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract. The base year Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) structure if First Article Testing is required is anticipated as follows:

CLIN 0001: First Article Testing; Silver-Zinc Battery Cell Preproduction Test Samples, including 19 Electrolyte Fill Kits, conforming to WS 18727E and NAVSEA Drawing 5185404L; QTY 19

CLIN 0002: First Article Testing Production Run; Silver-Zinc Battery Cells conforming to WS 18727E and NAVSEA Drawing 5185404L; QTY 200

CLIN 0003: First Article Testing Production Run; Electrolyte Fill Kits conforming to WS 18727E and NAVSEA Drawing 1585404; QTY 200

CLIN 0004: Periodic Production Test Sample of Silver-Zinc Battery Cells, including Electrolyte Fill Kits, conforming to WS 18727E and NAVSEA Drawing 5185404L

CLIN 0005: Production Run; Silver-Zinc Battery Cells conforming to WS 18727E and NAVSEA Drawing 5185404L

CLIN 0006: Production Run; Electrolyte Fill Kits conforming to WS 18727E and NAVSEA Drawing 5185404L

The awardee will be responsible for furnishing the cell case and cover molds for the MK 30 Mod 1 battery cells.

Anticipated release of the solicitation is in November 2016. RFP period will be 35 days.

The technical documentation associated with this Synopsis consists of a weapons specification and a drawing. Both are labeled Distribution D which means distribution is authorized to the DoD and U.S. DoD contractors with a valid Joint Certification Program (JCP) certification.
