Synopsis: Added: Sep 21, 2017 10:12 am NASA/Johnson Space Center (JSC) has a requirement for International Space Station (ISS) Global Positioning System (GPS) and Laboratory Test Support 2 (ISS GPS and Specialized Exploration Test Support 2).

NASA/JSC intends to purchase the engineering development and hardware/software support from a company that has specific capabilities. These capabilities include (1) the ability to provide sustaining engineering support to the Space Integrated Global Positioning System/Inertial Navigation System (SIGI) and (2) the ability to provide specialized avionics laboratory and hardware support.


The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.


Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to Sophia Mo at [email protected] no later than 4:30 P.M. Central Standard Time (CST) on October 5, 2017. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.


Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.


All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.

Added: Feb 28, 2018 3:16 pm This is modification 1 to the synopsis entitled International Space Station (ISS) Global Positioning System (GPS) and Laboratory Test Support 2 (ISS GPS and Specialized Exploration Test Support 2), which was posted on September 21, 2017. You are notified that the following changes are made:

The purpose of this modification 1 is to change 1) the acquisition type for this procurement from noncommercial item to commercial item, 2) the sentence "NASA/JSC intends to purchase the engineering development and hardware/software support from a company that has specific capabilities." to "NASA/JSC intends to purchase the engineering development and hardware/software support from Honeywell International Inc. that has specific capabilities.", and 3) solicitation number from 80JSC017SIGI2 to 80JSC018R0021.

The due date for responses is extended to March 1, 2018 at 4:00pm (CST).

Documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
