The Federal Emergency Management Agency(FEMA) anticipates issuance of a solicitation for the award of a firm fixed-price construction contract for a project entitled MWEOC Building 405 Historic Rehabilitation & Code Compliance, at the Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center (MWEOC) in Mount Weather, VA 20135-2006.
The project consists of furnishing all equipment, materials and labor for the historic rehabilitation & code compliance of Building 405, which is among the few remaining original buildings at the Mt. Weather Emergency Operations Center and the only building to retain much of its original building fabric. Due to the original interior finishes that survive, the building is considered an important heritage asset for the MWEOC. Work will include site work, extensive interior demolition while retaining historical woodwork, asbestos removal, architectural rehabilitation, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical and telecommunication installation. The performance period for the project, at this time, is contemplated to be 550 calendar days from issuance of the Notice To Proceed (NTP).
Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204, the estimated magnitude of the base project is over $10000000.
The solicitation will be available approximately on or about June 30th, 2018. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website at www.fbo.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be made available. The website provides download instructions.
